Perry H. Broadwater 1851-1936 at @ age 70.

Bittinger

He bought the farm on Rock Lodge Road with a stand of sugar maple trees.  After he was told that it might not last, he planted a second grove.  Both produced for many years until acid rain and gypsy moths ruined them.  The first stand was called Broadwater Grove and it saw many gatherings and celebrations.   His granddaughter, Margaret Brenneman Hershberger Wagner, inherited the farm and has preserved the split-rail fence and a number of outbuildings.  The grove is, now, named for her father, Lawrence Brenneman.
