James H. Uphold III, 19, Confluence, Pa., died Wednesday, April

15, 1998, at Uniontown, (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Feb. 24, 1879, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of James

H. Uphold, Jr. and Luann (Leon) Uphold, Confluence.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal

grandparents, Louis and Rachel Leon, Cannonsburg, Pa.; paternal

grandparents, James H. and Betty (Artice) Uphold (formerly of

Garrett County), Confulence; a paternal great, grandmother, Alice

Uphold, Confluence; and two sisters, Echo Uphold, Confluence and

Harmony (Uphold) Swaney, Farmington, Pa.

Friends were received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. A

service was conducted at the Grace Chapel United Methodist Church

on Saturday, April 18, with Rev. Del Wasser officiating.

Interment was in Johnson Chapel cemetery.
