Benjamin Taylor Thrasher
Mr. Benjamin Taylor Thrasher,
died at 3:15 a. m. May 2, 1933, at
his home in Deer Park, Md., from
complications which had caused a
lingering illness of over a year and
which became critical about a week
before his death.
Mr. Thrasher was born at Cedar
Creek, Shenandoah County, Virg-
inia, on October 25, 1846, and was
the son of Jacob and Elizabeth
Thrasher, he was aged 86 years, 7
months and 7 days.
Mr. Thrasher
had been a resident of Deer Park
for 65 years, and had he lived until
June 15, 1933, he would have cele-
brated his 60th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret
J. Thrasher, three daughters; Miss
Anna Thrasher, Deer Park, Md.,
Mrs. E. D. Cooper, Washington, D.C.,
Miss Ada Thrasher, Washinton, D.C.
Six sons, William
R. Thrasher, Pitts-
burgh, Pa., J. Allen Thrasher, Balti-
more, Md., J. Robert Thrasher, Deer
Park, Md., Russell H. and Ralph H.
Thrasher, Washington, D.C., Paul L.
Thrasher, Keyser, W. Va., and one
brother, Frank H. Thrasher, of Atlanta,
Ga. Sixteen grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at his home,
Thursday, May 4th, 1933 at 2 a. m.

Funeral services for Benjamin Taylor
Thrasher, 86, who died Tuesday,
May 2, at his home at Deer Park, were
held last Thursday afternoon, Rev.
Charles A. Shilke, pastor of St.
Mark's Lutheran church, Oakland,
officiating, assisted by the Rev. David
C. Trimble, of Oakland Episcopal
church.
The six sons of the deceased were
pallbearers and six of his nephews,
Howard, Edward, Walter Thrasher,
Claude Friend, Clarence Lashorn
and Aquilla Bartley, were flower
bearers. Music for
the funeral service
was rendered by a quartet of the
Masonic lodge of Oakland, Md, of
which fraternity some of his sons are
members.
The deceased was born at Cedar
Creek, Va., October 25, 1846, the son
of Jacob and Elizabeth Thrasher. He
had been a resident of Deer Park for
65 years and was a member of the
Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Margaret J. Thrasher
Mrs. Margaret J. Thrasher, wife of the
late Benjamin J. (typo?) Thrasher, died
suddenly at her home in Deer Park,
Sunday, at 9:30 p. m.
She was stricken
with a paralytic Sunday morning and was
unconscious until her death. Funeral
services were held from her home Wed-
nesday at 2:00 p. m.

Interment in the Deer Park
Cemetery.
Mrs. Thrasher was 79 years of age
having been born at New Creek,
Mineral County, W. Va., on June 29,
1856, the daughter of Allen h. and
Mary Williams. She
was married to
Benjamin T. Thrasher on June 15,
1873. Surviving
are a brother, John
Williams of Lacoochee, Florida and
nine children, William R., Ada G.,
Russell H., and Ralph H. Thrasher
and Mrs. Earl D. Cooper, of Wash-
ington, D.C., J. Allen of Baltimore,
Md., J. Robert and Anna L., of
Deer Park, and Paul L., of Keyser,
W. Va.
