Richard Tasker, aged 90 years, Civil War veteran, blind for more

than forty years, died at his home near Swanton Monday morning at

2:30 o'clock of diseases incident to advanced years.  His wife

died a number of years ago.  He is survived by four son and four

daughters; Herbert, Charles, John and Osborne Tasker, of Swanton

community; Mrs. Eliza Paugh, Mrs. Grace Tasker, who resides in

Canada; Mrs. Elizabeth Sweitzer and Mrs. Mary Paugh, of Swanton.

 

Funeral services were conducted yesterday morning at ten o'clock

at Log church, near Altamont, Rev. D. C. Trimble, of Oakland,

officiating.  Interment of the body was made at the Hamill

cemetery near Kitzmiller.

Richard Tasker was born September 21, 1846 and died February 24,

1936, aged 89 years, 5 months and three days.

 

He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eliza Paugh at

Altamont.  Mr. Tasker had been a life-long resident of Garrett

County, having spent most of his life near Swanton.  He was a

Civil War veteran and had been blind for 38 years.

 

Surviving are: Four sons: Herbert Tasker, Swanton, Charles,

Vindex, John, Barnum, Md., and Osborne who has not been heard of

for thirty years.  Four daughters: Mrs. Eliza Paugh, Altamont,

Mrs. Grace ?Streeser of Ca (page torn) Mrs. Elizabeth Sweitzer of

Swanton and Mrs. Mary Paugh, Decosta, Pa.

 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Log

Church near Altamont, Md., with Rev. David C. Trimble

officiating.  Interment was made in Hamill cemetery near

Kitzmiller.

especially for Grace, I am assuming that Ca was Canada.  It

definitely does not say Mrs. Grace Tasker.  Do you know her

married name?
