James Dolliver Friend, aged 78, died at the home of his son in

Clarksburg, West. Va., on Wednesday, August 20. Mr. Friend was

born in Deer Park, the son of the late Samuel and Sara Friend.

He is survived by the following; a son, L. G. Friend, Clarksburg;

a daughter Mrs. Alta Parish, of Burlington, West Va.; a brother

Oscar Friend, of Deer Park, and a number of grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday and interment will be

made at two o'clock that day in the Deer Park cemetery.
