Mrs. Asa Rush

 

Last rites for Mrs. Iva Curuth Rush, 51, were conducted Tuesday

afternoon from the Friendsville Methodist church.  She died

suddenly Sunday, May 5, at noon in the Memorial hospital,

Cumberland, following an operation.

 

Her husband, Asa H. Rush, preceded her in death eleven years ago.

She was the daughter of Cornelius W. and Mae Friend.

 

Surviving are her mother, two daughters, Mrs. Aleta Murphy,

Friendsville; Mrs. Jean Greynolds, Wilmore, Ky.; one son Karol

Rush, Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Karolyn, Nancy, Tony, Robin

Rush and Kay Murphy; for sisters; Mrs. Lona Humberson, Mrs. Grace

Meyers, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Pearl Wakefield, Friendsville; Mrs.

Mabel R. Ford, Baltimore; six brothers, Foster, Frostburg; Olin,

Blaine, Ford, Elis and Orval Friend, Friendsville.

 

The Rev. R. L Greynolds conducted the funeral service, assisted

by the Rev. H. R. Writson.  Interment was in the Blooming Rose

cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Howard Skidmore, Robert Murphy, John Williams,

Paul Fisher, David Dixon and James Lininger.  Flower bearers were

members of the Women's Christian Service Society.

 

Mrs. Rush was an active member of the Methodist church, a member

of the Women's Christian Service Society, being the chairman of

Spiritual Life; and was financial secretary of the Woodmen of the

World.
