Henry K. Friend

Henry Kenaugh Friend, 60, of Santa Rosa, Texas, formerly of this

county, quietly passed away at his home on December 19.

 

Mr. Friend was born on August 16, 1876, at Friendsville, a son of

Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Friend, and for many years was store manager

for the Kendall Lumber Company in Crellin.  He moved to Texas

with his family in 1925, where he became one of the prominent

farmers and residents of the Rio Grande Valley.

 

Funeral services for the deceased were conducted from the Santa

Rosa Methodist church, with interment in the Harlingen (Texas)

cemetery.

 

Surviving are his widow, formerly from Selbysport, two daughters,

Mrs. C. L. Adams, of Harlingen, Texas; and Mrs. Herman Williams,

Gladewater, Texas; a son, H. Klaude Friend, also of Gladewater.

Three brothers, Hamilton Friend, Asa B. Friend and R. B. Friend,

and three sisters, Mrs. D. O. DeWitt, Mrs. James W. Friend and

Miss Mollie Friend, of the Hoyes and Friendsville communities in

this county, also survive.  James H. Fike, of Selbysport, is a

brother-in-law of the deceased.
