George W. Washington

 

George Washington Friend, aged 79, of route 2, Swanton, died

Saturday, January 14, in Garrett County Memorial hospital in

Oakland where he had been a patient for three days.

 

Born in Swallow Falls he was a son of the late John W. and Rachel

Fry Friend.  He was a member of the Pentecostal church.

 

He is survived by two sons, Elmer and Wesley Friend, both of

route 2, Swanton; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Bowser and Mrs.

Cecelia Brant, route 2, Swanton, and Mrs. Elsie Cordier,

Tarentum, Pa.; a brother, Arthur Friend, Deer Park; 10

grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

 

The body was taken to the Minnich Funeral home in Oakland where

funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock

with the Rev. Ralph Jacks, of the Sang Run United Pentecostal

church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leroy Harvey.

Interment was in the Glendale cemetery.
