GEORGE WASHINGTON FRIEND
George Washington Friend died suddenly at
was employed in the WPA office
there and had just left the office
when stricken. He was rushed to an emergency hospital but
was
pronounced dead upon arrival.
Mr. Friend was born at Swanton, this county,
son of Harriett and the late
John B. Friend. Surviving are his

of Romney, W.
The deceased was well known in this county, having taught
school
here for a number of years
before moving with his family to the
eastern shore.
