Frederick Smith Friend, aged 82, died last Thursday, June 13, at

his home in Accident. He had been in ill health two years.

Deceased was born November 1, 1875, near Friendsville, a son of

the late David H. and Mary Jane Gary Friend.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran

church at Accident.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Friend; tow sons,

Lloyd Friend, Friendsville; Claude Friend, Accident; three

daughters, Mrs. Oma Lohr, Accident; Mrs. Margaret Beckman,

Swanton; Mrs. Milrose McClintock, Finly, Pa.; three brothers,

Raymond and Harold Friend, both of Friendsville; and John Friend,

Acosta, Pa.; also 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:30

o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. William E.

Carlson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the church

cemetery.
