Ernest C. Friend, a Spanish-American War veteran, died on

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, at his home in

Friendsville, Maryland.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel A. Friend, six sons, Simeon

and Raymond Friend, at home; Clyde and Ernest Friend, Wellsburg,

WV; Alvin Friend, New York, and James Friend, Accident; three

daughters, Mrs. George Thomas, Wellsburg; Mrs. William Kissner,

of California, and Edith, at home; also by three sisters, J.

Edward Friend, Uniontown, Pa.; Mrs. Charles Smith, Lowber, Pa.;

Mrs. George C. Brooke and Mrs. John Manges, of Uniontown, Pa.
