Augustine Friend, son of William E. and Susan R. Friend, died on

January 24, 1926, at an advanced age. He was born and reared in

the vicinity of Friendsville and for more than thirty-five years

was a devoted member of the Christian church. On May 18, 1874,

Miss Etta M. Schroyer became his wife. To this union the

following children were born and survive: Mrs. Umbel, Ross

Russell Friend, Mrs. Emma M. Ross; Miss Ida Friend, all of

Friendsville; Mrs. Beulah Lillian Gross, Cumberland; Mrs. Mary

Aultman, Fairmont; Mrs. Grace Frankhouser, Morgantown, W. Va.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren

and by three brothers - William Edmund Friend, W. Scott Friend,

and T. C. Friend.

The family of the deceased desire to extend their thanks for the

many kindnesses shown them during their days of bereavement. A.
