Alvin Harrison Friend, aged 63 years, died at Garrett County

Memorial hospital in Oakland on Tuesday, May 13, after having

been a patient there for one and one-half days.

Mr. Friend was born in this county October 10, 1888, a son of the

late Steven Willis and Mary Martha Friend. He had been residing

with a son, Leo Friend, of Oakland. He was a member of the

Brethren church at Oak Grove.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa Ellen Friend and ten children,

Randall Friend, Corinth, W. Va.; Mrs. Nora Lewis, Terra Alta, W.

Va.; Sgt. Wilmer Friend, with the U. S. air force, at Mobile,

Ala.; Mrs. Bessie Carter, Baltimore; Ernest and Leo Friend, of

Oakland; Orville Friend, Baltimore; Mrs. Juanita Savage and

Junior Robert Friend, McHenry; and Violet Friend, of Baltimore;

also 10 grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Woods,

Morgantown; Mrs. Blanche Teets, Oakland; and Mrs. Marie McDonald,

Pottsville, Pa.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday afternoon at 2

o'clock from the Oak Grove church, with Rev. William C. Rogers,

of Mt. Lake Park Baptist circuit, officiating. Interment will be

in the Hoyes Run cemetery.
