Poem Written By Ella Mae Mckenzie Feb 26th 1969
While in the hospital. Recited by Rev. Roy Frazier
at “Mothers” Funeral.
There’s a grassy spot on Jordan’s shore,
As I stood there in silence on day in prayer.
I seemed to hear my savior say
“Come on
child, all the way.”
I
will hold your hand, I will steady your step,
I
will never let you stray.
Just close your eyes and come with
me,
To your home
eternally.
But
now I hear a stronger voice
“Wait
“ it seems to say.
Don’t take that step into Jordan
yet,
There’s
still time yet to pray.
There
are souls to be saved, Lost sheep returned
That have
simply gone astray.
So
be sure we have them all safely home,
Before
we close this day.

God needs your help, so please will
you wait
To step over
Jordan with me,
and
then we will enter our heavenly home,
with
all Gods Children and Me.
